Heather Woodard Executive Director New roots Glynn spoke to the Exchange club about the program. All New Roots Glynn peer-support services are offered at no cost to the individual or family. Our meetings and events aim to bring awareness, education, hope and recovery to our community. Like the barrier islands, we aim to help protect our coastal community from the waves of the substance abuse and addiction epidemic and end the stigma around it. Like the Southern Live Oak, we will do so by being a community deeply rooted in recovery with branches of support that are accessible to all. A recovery coach is a trained volunteer in sustained recovery who serves as a mentor for individuals seeking or maintaining recovery. Recovery coaching works to remove barriers and obstacles to recovery by offering strengths-based support, encouragement and guidance. Make an appointment or drop in any weekday 10am - 6pm We offer a range of meetings to support individuals and families in our community. Our different meeting formats are designed to meet the unique needs of each person we serve. At New Roots Glynn, we are proud of the impact we have made in the lives of those we serve. We have helped individuals and families overcome challenges and achieve their goals, and we are committed to continuing this important work. Recovery Community Organization was founded in 2022 by Heather Woodard, working from her home and taking an All-Recovery Meeting to the men's transitional work program, and hosting community events. Because of continuous support from her community, New Roots Glynn opened its office doors to the entire community in April 2024.
